Nedda Sarshar, a talented filmmaker and writer, is dedicated to sharing captivating stories that revolve around queer women of color and their immigrant families. Her exceptional skills were recognized in 2021 when she emerged as the winner of Reel Asian's prestigious "So You Think You Can Pitch?" Competition. Nedda actively contributes to organizations such as BIPOC TV and Film, further amplifying diverse voices in the industry. Her remarkable writing has been featured in renowned publications like Huffington Post Canada, This Magazine, and Room Magazine. Notably, she has been fortunate to secure financial support for her projects from esteemed granting bodies like the Toronto Arts Council and the Canada Arts Council. Nedda holds a B.A. in writing and policy from Syracuse University and has been selected for the esteemed Banff Centre for the Arts Emerging Writer Intensive. With a strong focus on exploring life in the Iranian diaspora, Nedda aspires to continue creating impactful work in the future. She is excited about the prospect of becoming more involved with the Breakthroughs community.
